In the field of the digital economy and work, our think tank contributes to understanding and addressing the opportunities and challenges arising from the digital transformation of the workplace. There are several actions our think tank takes in this domain:

Conduct research on the impact of digital technologies on employment, skills, labor markets, and the future of work. Analyze trends such as automation, digital platforms, remote work, gig economy, and their implications for workers, businesses, and policymakers.

Develop policy recommendations and frameworks to support workers in the digital economy and promote inclusive growth. Advocate for policies that address issues such as digital skills development, worker protections, fair wages, labor rights, and social protection in the digital age.

Support initiatives to enhance digital literacy and skills development among workers. Develop training programs, online courses, and educational resources to equip individuals with the digital skills needed to thrive in the digital economy, including coding, data analysis, digital marketing, and cybersecurity.

Explore different scenarios for the future of work in the digital economy, considering factors such as automation, artificial intelligence, remote work, and the gig economy. Conduct scenario planning exercises to anticipate potential challenges and opportunities for workers and businesses.

Monitor labor market dynamics and trends in the digital economy. Collect and analyze data on employment patterns, job creation, job displacement, and skills demand to inform evidence-based policymaking and workforce planning.

Advocate for policies and regulations that protect the rights and well-being of workers in the digital economy. Address issues such as worker classification, gig worker rights, access to benefits (e.g., healthcare, retirement), and fair working conditions in digital platforms and gig economy jobs.

Promote digital inclusion initiatives to ensure that all workers have access to digital technologies and opportunities in the digital economy. Advocate for policies and programs that bridge the digital divide and address barriers to access, affordability, and digital literacy, particularly among marginalized and underserved populations.

Support workers in transitioning to digital economy jobs through retraining, reskilling, and career development programs. Develop transition pathways and support services to help workers adapt to changing job requirements and seize new opportunities in the digital economy.

Advocate for regulations and policies that ensure fair treatment, transparency, and accountability in digital platforms and gig economy platforms. Address issues such as worker classification, algorithmic fairness, data privacy, and labor rights enforcement in platform-based work.

Facilitate dialogue and collaboration among stakeholders in the digital economy and work ecosystem, including government agencies, employers, trade unions, industry associations, civil society organizations, and academia. Organize forums, workshops, and policy dialogues to discuss key issues and co-create solutions.

Driving sustainable solutions for economic growth, technological advancement, and a thriving future.
