IIETF > Area of Work > Technology Policy and Governance

As a think tank we are focused on Technology Policy and Governance and engage in research, analysis, and advocacy related to the intersection of technology and public policy. Here are some activities which we as a think tank undertake:

Conducting in-depth research on various aspects of technology policy and governance, including topics such as data privacy, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence (AI), internet governance, digital rights, and emerging technologies. This research often involves gathering data, analyzing trends, and producing reports or white papers to inform policymakers and the public.

Developing policy recommendations based on research findings to guide central banks, monetary authorities, and policymakers in formulating and implementing effective monetary policy measures. This may include proposing specific changes to interest rates, reserve requirements, open market operations, or unconventional monetary policies to achieve price stability, economic growth, and financial stability objectives.

Hosting events, workshops, and conferences to raise awareness and facilitate discussions on key technology policy issues. Think tanks may also publish articles, blog posts, and op-eds to disseminate information to a broader audience and foster public engagement.

Collaborating with think tanks, research institutions, and policymakers from other countries to address global technology policy challenges. This could involve participating in international conferences, joint research projects, and multilateral initiatives aimed at harmonizing regulatory frameworks or addressing transnational issues.

Monitoring the implementation and impact of technology policies and regulations to assess their effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. This may involve conducting evaluations, surveys, and case studies to measure outcomes and inform future policy decisions.

Providing training, technical assistance, and expertise to government officials, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders involved in shaping and implementing technology policies. This could include workshops on regulatory compliance, technology assessment, and policy analysis.

Driving sustainable solutions for economic growth, technological advancement, and a thriving future.
